Planning and Development is responsible for administering Pearl River County's flood damage prevention ordinance and subdivision regulations ordinance. Prior to any development, please contact our office to ensure you are in compliance with the County's ordinances.
Floodplain Information
Pearl River County participates in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), for additional information please visit FEMA's Flood Insurance Website. To find out if your property is in a flood hazard area, please view the MDEQ Online Flood Maps or the Pearl River County Interactive Map. If you are applying for a building permit in an identified SFHA area, you will need an elevation certificate issued through your land surveyor. This elevation information is needed to show compliance with the flood damage prevention ordinance.
