Pearl River County ended 2024 by awarding and approving the most infrastructure projects in County history during a singular meeting. The infrastructure projects awarded will support economic development efforts and recruitment at the Pearl River County Industrial Park and create safer roads throughout the County.
The notable infrastructure contracts include:
- Highway 26 Widening and Improvements Project for the Pearl River County Industrial Park awarded to Holliday Construction, LLC in the amount of $1,094,568.11;
- This project is supported by funding through the Mississippi Development Authority’s Select Site – Site Development Grant Program, with the grant supporting 90% of the project.
- This project is supported by funding through the Mississippi Development Authority’s Select Site – Site Development Grant Program, with the grant supporting 90% of the project.
- Grade, Drain and Base Side Development and Infrastructure Improvements Project for the Pearl River County Industrial Park awarded to R&J Construction, Inc. in the amount of $2,051,201.78; and the
- This project is supported by funding through the Mississippi Development Authority’s Select Site – Site Development Grant Program, with the grant supporting 90% of the project.
- This project is supported by funding through the Mississippi Development Authority’s Select Site – Site Development Grant Program, with the grant supporting 90% of the project.
- Federal Highways Safety Improvements Program to J.L. McCool Contractors, Inc. in the amount of $2,823,009.50.
- This project is fully funded through federal aid for Local Roads Safety Improvements through the Mississippi Department of Transportation for striping, signage and other road improvements for approximately 44 miles of roadway.

- Staid Aid Safety Improvements Program to J.L. McCool Contractors, Inc. in the amount of $1,235,229.30.
- This project is totally funded through state aid and will be utilized for striping, signage and other road improvements for approximately 30 miles of roadway.

Malcolm Perry, President of the Pearl River County Board of Supervisors, stated, “The continuous investment from the County’s state and federal partners that fund significant infrastructure improvements will have a monumental impact on the future of our growing County. These projects would not be possible without the dedicated support and partnership from Governor Reeves, the Mississippi Development Authority and our other state and federal partners.”
The infrastructure and site development contracts awarded at the end of 2024 totaled $7,204,008.69 and all projects are supported either fully or have a significant majority of funding provided by non-local sources. Pearl River County has strategically focused its infrastructure and site development efforts for the betterment of the safety of its citizens and towards a more competitive economic development future. Supervisor Perry concluded, “Pearl River County is moving forward. We want our partners at every level to know that we are working diligently and efficiently to ensure their support and investment in our community continues to have a rippling impact.”
