Welcome to the Pearl River County E911 Addressing Office
We are pleased to manage the 911 addressing system for Pearl River County. You can reach our office for assistance by calling Poplarville office at 601-403-2201 or Picayune office at 601-749-7731. Our office is open Monday - Friday from 8am to 5pm. The office is closed for lunch from 12 noon to 1pm. If you need to conduct business with one of our offices during the lunch break, please call to schedule in advance.
The basic 911 responsibility is to ensure that all Pearl River County addresses are maintained in a 911 database. This database, maintained by the phone company, enables automatic routing to the appropriate law enforcement, fire protection and/or Emergency Medical Response unit in response to a citizen's 911 emergency call. Coordination with county and city planning departments is vital so that as new roads, subdivisions and developments are created, the database can be updated.
We are the first step in order to obtain a building permit. You must apply with our office for new addresses.
If you are new in the county and have an existing address, please contact us to update the information in our database.
PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING LAWS:
MS Code 19-5-319. The Addresses are NOT Public Record.
Per Pearl River County Ordinance 97-3:
You must post your Address number at the end of your driveway and on your structure in three inch reflective numbers. Also, if you have a private road you must have a Blue Sign with White Lettering. This is for your safety for the Emergency Services to locate you or your loved ones during an Emergency!
